VTC Technician

Job Summary: 

SIS is seeking a talented individual to immediately join our VTC Business Group as a mid-level VTC Technician, headquartered at Warner Robins, GA. As VTC Technician, you will have a rewarding career supporting the United States Air Force (USAF) located at Robins Air Force Base, GA. In this role, you will support several projects and provide customers and senior program managers with maintenance and advanced troubleshooting support of all voice over IP networks and the desktop VTC network. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Tier II-III level resolution and customer support to all VoIP issues across the enterprise. The candidate will also be responsible to provide outage documentation utilizing customer provided Incident Tracking software. Tools utilized will include Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity, Tandberg Management Suite (TMS), and other tools as necessary. Knowledge of GVS scheduling, ISDN and IP based conferencing will be essential in your ongoing growth in this role.

Job Duties:

  • Investigate and propose technology strategies that can better support the USAF and business strategies
  • Facilitation of all required VTC calls
  • Knowledge and experience with current VTC and A/V equipment
  • Daily use of Cisco Tandberg Management Suite (TMS)
  • Endpoint and conference room availability review
  • VTC Conference building and modification
  • Coordination of availability with conference participants
  • Addition of endpoints/rooms to existing conferences
  • VTC resource conflict resolution
  • Conference testing with participants during defined timeframes
  • Coordinate room testing with Facilitators to identify A/V issues
  • Identification of VIP level calls to Video Operations Center
  • Coordination with 3rd party VTC resources such as DISA/USAF
  • Provisioning of audio bridge lines for Audio only calls
  • Engage VTC Facilitators, as need, for any required VTC support
  • Preside in and monitor VIP level conferences
  • Monitor for and process Enterprise Help Desk (EHD) tickets
  • Schedule, coordinate, facilitate, and set up VTC requests/sessions both secure and un-Secure
  • Provide Senior-level presentation support for conference rooms at various locations around the base, national or geographically dispersed participants
  • Coordinate presentation requirements for conference room users, presents PowerPoint and/or other presentation support through use of multimedia systems in these rooms
  • Provide technical support to customers on presentation capabilities and requirements for the conference rooms
  • Assist in scheduling of rooms for presentation support
  • Conduct basic trouble shooting, and coordinate with VTC Operations Leaders on any issues which require resolution; includes testing with other AF units
  • Configure systems, multimedia devices and peripheral equipment as needed
  • Support on-site maintenance from vendors
  • Serve as equipment custodian for all installed equipment in VTC-enabled conference rooms
  • Some light travel could be involved at times - may be needed periodically at other locations
    Knowledge of control systems would be helpful - have the ability or feel comfortable with loading code, panel files and making minor changes over the phone when needed

  • Experience working in a fast pace large video conferencing environment

Education / Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years video conferencing presentation technologies installation experience, preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years recent experience in a DOD environment, preferably USAF
  • CTS certification and any industry certifications a plus.  Example: Polycom, Cisco, AMX, Crestron ext
  • Security+ Certification
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance
  • US citizenship is mandatory
